THIS DOMESTIC PODIUM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY IS MADE POSSIBLE BY SWIM ONTARIO.

RATIONALE

To provide collaborative training opportunities for Level 2 & 3 Classified para swimmers with a focus on technical skill review, training best practices and relay skill development.

TRAINING DATES

Para Development Camp 1: October 2026

Para Development Camp 2: January 2026

TRAINING LOCATION: Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre

SWIMMER TRAINING FEE: $300.00 per camp

SWIMMER ELIGIBILITY

  • 13 Years of Age or Older
  • Must be fully registered with an ACTIVE status in REMS as of October 12, 2026
  • Must be eligible to compete for Canada internationally
  • Must be Level 2 Classified or higher

PERFORMANCE ELIGIBILITY

  • Must have achieved a minimum of one Ontario Age Group Time standard in a Paralympic event

SELECTION PRIORITIES

  • Swimmers who meet both the swimmer and performance eligibility will be selected to participate in this season long program
  • Swim Ontario reserves the right to invite additional swimmers who fall outside of the selection priorities based on consultation with the coaching leads

PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS

  • Swimmers are asked to participate in all “In-Person” training opportunities; certain exemptions will provided based on discussion with the swimmers’ Coach
  • Swimmer must be in good health and injury free to participate
  • Selected swimmers must be in full training with their registered program
  • Must be able to complete all training expectations outlined by the leadership team
  • Swimmers may be asked to complete testing sets throughout the course of the program delivery with potential follow-up testing at their home program.
  • Coaches are encouraged to attend all training sessions with their swimmers.
  • Coaches are responsible for their travel and accommodation to and from the camp.

Travel and Accommodation

Travel and accommodation for the tour will be coordinated by the Team Manager.

Any costs associated with Pre and Post camp travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the attending swimmers and coaches.

Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event of unforeseen or unusual circumstances the Chief Technical Officer, has the sole discretion to resolve the matter, taking into account any factors and circumstances deemed relevant.

Changes To This Document

Swim Ontario reserves the right to make changes to this document at its discretion. Any changes to this document shall be published by Swim Ontario and communicated directly to all eligible participants through their Coach of Record

Swim Ontario Authority for Decisions

The Swim Ontario Chief Technical Officer has sole authority over all selection matters, including final decisions regarding selection based on approved criteria and subsequent requirements. All decisions are considered final and not subject to review or appeal.
